We are delighted that our school is taking part in the Mitchelstown Edible Town Project and it has already been a very enjoyable experience for all of our students.
Over the past few weeks, the girls and boys have been busy planting seeds and learning how to care for them. They have taken great pride in watering them and checking on their progress each day. It has been wonderful to see their excitement and interest as they watch the seeds begin to grow.
It has now been two weeks since we planted and we are very pleased to see that our seeds are growing well. The children are really looking forward to continuing to care for them and to seeing what they will produce in the weeks ahead.
This project has given the children a valuable opportunity to learn more about how food is grown, while also encouraging teamwork and responsibility. It has been a very positive and hands on experience for everyone involved.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in the Mitchelstown Edible Town Project for giving us the opportunity to take part. A special word of thanks goes to Michelle Joyce for all of her support and guidance. We would also like to thank Miss Hyland and our Green School Commitee for all her help in making this such an enjoyable experience for the children.
We are looking forward to continuing with the project and we will keep everyone updated as our seeds continue to grow and thrive. Mitchelstown Tidy Towns Open Heart Farm
