And we'r off .... with a full schedule for Active Week 2023!
Our Active Committee worked extremely hard planning and organising Active Week 2023 (Monday to Friday 23-27 October). We would like to thank them all for all their efforts which were greatly enjoyed by all. Especially the no written homework for the week. Instead there was physical activity homework along with learning homework. During Active School Week students and staff enjoyed: Football with Gabriel, Rugby Ball Chain on the yard; Yoga with Ms. Kearney; Halloween Disco and Walk where pupils dress up in their Halloween costumes; Zumba with Tracy McDonald Move Zumba and to finished the week off a really enjoyable Table Tennis Tournament.
We were delighted to get dressed up in red and black on the last day of midterm (27.10.2023) in support of our local teams who are out in two County Finals over the break.
Best wishes to St Fanahan’s Camogie team in their County Final on Saturday 28.10.2023 and also to the Mitchelstown Footballers in their County Final on November 4th.

Thank you so much to Ms Kearney for leading all classes and staff in Yoga classes during Active Schools Week. It was a most relaxing and enjoyable experience .
The “Bunskull”Halloween Disco took place on Wednesday 29.11.2023. It certainly was a “spirit” lifting occasion. Our witches with their broom sticks were “swept away” by the event. The Mummys found it hard to keep their excitement under “wraps”. Our werewolves certainly released their “inner-beasts” and to be very honest the situation became very “hairy” at times. One girl in first class got completely “carried away” and claimed she was being abducted by our aliens, who thought the disco lights were “out of this world”. Our scarecrows were no trouble at all, they just “stood there”, watching the ghosts “boo-gie”. They skeletons refused to help- “lazy bones, but the vampires were a “Fang-tastic help. Our pumpkins were very upset as some wise guy kept requesting music from the “smashing pumpkins” band! Finally, when we thought nothing else could go wrong all of the treats were devoured by those pesky “gobblings”.
Thank you so much to our Active Schools Committee, our Parents Council and the transition years that were on placement in our school for Co-ordinating this fun event.
