Welcome to Bunscoil na Toirbhirte

On behalf of our pupils, staff, parents, Board of Management and Parents Association, it is my great privilege to welcome you to the Bunscoil na Toirbhirte school website. We are delighted to offer this platform as a way to connect with our parents, our wider community, and anyone wishing to learn more about our school

Bunscoil na Toirbhirte is an inclusive and welcoming Catholic school. We are a vertical school with girls and boys in our junior and senior infant classes, and girls only from 1st to 6th class. We are also very proud to have an Autism Class as part of our school community.
Our staff are a hardworking and exceptionally talented group of professionals. I sincerely thank them for their dedication and for the care they show each day. They are fully committed to the holistic development of every child. Our aim is to support each pupil in reaching their full potential and in using their unique gifts and talents, all within a nurturing and supportive environment.
The Board of Management holds high expectations for all our pupils and works continuously to ensure a safe, positive and enriching learning experience. Across our school, truth, kindness and compassion are modelled and encouraged. We are equally committed to supporting the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of every child in our care.
We deeply value our parents, who are our pupils’ first and most important educators. The parents of Bunscoil na Toirbhirte have been an incredible source of support over the years. Our Parents Association is a vibrant and dedicated group whose hard work is evident throughout the school. Their contribution has had a lasting and meaningful impact on school life, and for this we are sincerely grateful.
As Principal, it is important to me that everyone who enters our school feels welcome, valued and proud to be part of our community. I am honoured to lead such a wonderful school, and I look forward to the years ahead with great enthusiasm.

Yours sincerely,
Michael McCarthy
Principal
