Brilliant Ballygiblin!
We were proud to welcome members of the All Ireland Winning Ballygiblin Hurling Team to us on Monday 17.01.2023 fresh from their historic All Ireland Junior hurling final win. This bunch of lads are an inspiration to our young boys and girls and we really appreciate them being so generous with their time. They will always be their heros who took them to Croke Park twice in a year and won an All Ireland! We are so proud of this team and so grateful for the memories that will last a lifetime.
They are the gift that keep on giving and to celebrate this for their visit to Bunscoil a red and white balloon arch was placed at the gate. 2nd to 6th performed a guard of honour from the gate to the reception door. ‘Simply The Best’ blared out on a speaker as they walk in as the pupils cheered them in. Juniors to 1st performed their song for the team in the Halla. Fionn Herlihy (Captain) spoke on behalf of the team and offered sound advice to all present. He encouraged the girls and boys to be active and fit. Many pictures were taken and hands shaken! The team signed two Ballygiblin Jerseys. These will be raffled off later in the week. We look forward to welcoming the team back to Bunscoil with more silverware next year. Thanks to Mr Dineen for taking such beautiful photos and to our staff for helping to organise the event.

Congratulations to Ballygiblin who won the AIB All-Ireland Club Junior Hurling Championship Semi Final over Horeswood (Wexford) this weekend on a scoreline of 1.12 to 0.8. We are off to Croker again on the 14th January, 2023. We will see you there!
We were thrilled to welcome the triumphant Ballygiblin Hurlers to Bunscoil on 17.10.2022. There was a tremendous buzz of excitement around the school.
The thing is…….. we weren’t one bit surprised!!! That’s why Billy had all our flags, bunting and our supporters sign put away from last year. If you take a close look at the sign outside our school you will see we didn’t just think they would win the County Final. We expect them to make it all the way to Croke Park again this year.
Well done to everyone involved and thank you for all the excitement you are creating for our girls and boys.
