We had a fantastic turnout for the first day of the Bunscoil Walking Bus on Friday 28.04.2023. Thank you to everyone who joined in. We hope to see even more pupils and parents at our next Bunscoil Walking Bus every Friday between now and the end of May.
We are 'bussing' with excitement to tell you about a new initiative that will commence this Friday and continue every Friday until the end of May.
All families are invited to take part in the 'Bunscoil Walking Bus'. This initiative was drawn up by our Active Schools Committee, Wellbeing Committee and Green School Committee, in consultation with our Parents Council.
We feel the Bunscoil Walking Bus will be an exciting way to promote physical health, mental health, all while reducing the consumption of fossil fuels.
Families are invited to meet at the square under the seating/gazebo area at 8.30 am. The group will leave on foot from here at 8.35am and walk to the school via the below route. Families are invited to join the bus en route- there is plenty of room on the bus!!!. Staff members will accompany families as they walk to school on the first day. Staff will not be in a supervision role. Parents will be responsible for supervising their own children.
All pupils will have completed the route with their class before Friday morning.
Route:
Leave the square at 8:35
Cross at the zebra crossing between the Clongibbon and Post Office/Supervalu.
Turn right. Continue to upper Cork Street, passing ID Sports and Blueberries.
Turn left at the Old Brothers Path and proceed to the Leisure Centre. Continue on the Brother Path to Bunscoil.
