Bunscoil and The Library
"Reading is not just a skill, it's an adventure that opens up new worlds and expands the imagination of children."
We in Bunscoil have a great relationship with Mitchelstown Library and make time to visit whenever we can. Picture above shows Library staff member Brenda regaling her young audience from Bunscoil na Toirbhirte at storytime in Mitchelstown library recently.
We have had a wonderful time visiting Mitchelstown Library during the 22/23 school year. Special thanks to all the staff at the library, especially Eileen, for the kindness they showed our girls and boys. We greatly appreciate all the amazing work they do to support our school. Their dedication to providing a safe and welcoming space for the children of Mitchelstown and surrounding areas to read, learn and grow is truly appreciated. The Library and it’s staff are an invaluable resource to our school and community. Thanks also to Ms Doyle for overseeing and co-ordinating our school visits during the year.
Earlier in the year Mitchelstown Library ran a Poetry Competition for local Primary Schools. We were delighted to welcome Ed from Mitchelstown Library recently (20.06.2023). Ed presented the Bunscoil winners with prizes. Thank you so much to Ed and to everyone involved.
Ms Keaney’s and Ms Griffin’s class visited Mitchelstown Library on Friday 23.6.2023,! They had a wonderful time.
