Céilí Mór 2019
It was with much excitement that we held our annual school ceilí in the Halla yesterday, Friday March 15th. Every class had been busy preparing for the event over the last few weeks and it was a resounding success. Well done to all the boys and girls and their teachers for their performances on the day and to all the parents and grandparents, childminders and friends who joined in with the dancing.
Huge thanks must go to the musicians who provided us with the live traditional music for the three céilís- Ms. Watson on fiddle, Paul Finn on drums, Mr Wallace on the keyboard, Liam Roche on the piano accordian and Jim Nash on the fiddle. We were especially delighted to have Ms Hayes back with us for the day as a special musical guest on the piano accordian , something we hope will now be an annual occasion. (Thank you Ms Hayes!! :) This year we were delighted to be joined by some of the members of the Mitchelstown Junior Comhaltas who played a tune at each céilí. Thanks to Orla, Rachael, Rachel, Áine and Aoife for sharing their talents with us. Sincere thanks to all our musicians. They really were amazing and the céilí would not have been able to take place without them!
Thanks must also go to the extremely hardworking members of the Parents' Council who organised a cake sale to coincide with the céilís and to the parents who donated baked goods. In total, a massive €1133 was raised which will be put towards the building of a permanent sensory room for the pupils of Bunscoil.
Thanks to everyone who helped to make the day such a special and memorable occasion.
We're looking forward to next year already!!
