End of Year School Mass
It was with great enthusiasm that we gathered together in beautiful sunshine for our annual end-of-year School Mass on the final Tuesday of the school year 2016-2017. This is always a very special occasion for everyone in Bunscoil na Toirbhirte.
The mass was led by our Chairperson Fr. Gabriel Burke C.C., who was ably assisted by Canon Fitzgerald and Canon O'Leary. We are so thankful to have been joined by so many parents, grandparents and friends and would especially like to mention our invited guests- Seán and Ber Finn, Frank O'Flynn (Cork County Council), Sr Ann Hurley, Sr Consilio and Sr Eucharia (representing the Presentation Sisters), Bunty Flynn (A.R.O.M.A.) and Catherine Murphy (former Deputy Principal of Bunscoil na Toirbhirte). Everyone got involved in the ceremony with the singing being provided by all the boys and girls, who were led by Ms Hayes, Ms Watson and Mr Wallace. Huge thanks must go to Ms Shinnick for coordinating this beautiful end-of-year celebration!!
Following the Mass, Ms Hayes was delighted to launch our School Yearbook, an insight into the events of 2016-2017 in Bunscoil na Toirbhirte. Ms Watson, editor of the Yearbook acknowledged the work of all the teachers and pupils, as without their contributions there would be no yearbook. A copy of the yearbook was then presented to each of our special guests. This wonderful publication is currently on sale in the school for €7. Get your Bunscoil na Toirbhirte Yearbook before they're all gone!
Sincere thanks to everyone for making today such a special day!!!
