Judi Curtin - Library Visit
On the 4th of October Mitchelstown Library hosted a free event for school children from 1.30 to 2.30. Popular children’s author Judi Curtin attended and she was greeted by over 100 enthusiastic young readers, mostly from Bunscoil na Toirbhirte's 4th, 5th and 6th classes. We had walked down with our teachers and had many
questions prepared for her about her life and her career as an author.
Judi gave an excellent presentation about how she became an author, with many hints for us about how we could explore this as a career choice for ourselves. She showed toys from her childhood, and related the stories attached to each one. She read from her latest book, and spoke about her other seventeen children's books, which have been translated into many languages. She also recalled visiting Bunscoil na Toirbhirte five years ago to present a former pupil with a prize, when she had a short story published as part of World Book Day, in the official children's World Day book. Look at the photos from her visit below.
