'Keep In Mind:
Time To Be Kind’
Picture
1st to 6th classes have just completed the ‘Keep In Mind: Time To Be Kind’ National School Programme. This 5 week programme was created after the Covid-19 pandemic, which had a huge impact on our young people’s well-being and mental health. The course was excellently delivered to the girls by facilitator Lisa O'Connor.
Teaching kindness to children is essential in helping develop empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence. This in turn improves young people’s mental and emotional well-being. It also teaches resilience, positive relationships, moral development, and social skills.
Kindness is taught every day in schools across the country, and this programme reinforced those positive messages to enhance students' learning.
The programme was delivered using fun and creative mediums such as drama, art, storytelling, music, discussion, and debate. It was aimed at a whole-school approach, using one day a week to work with all classes. It was very much enjoyed by the girls.
