Ms Hayes Retires After 36 Years in Bunscoil

There were great celebrations throughout the school before we broke up for the Christmas holidays as we paid tribute to Ms Hayes and thanked her for her years of dedication and service to the staff and pupils of Bunscoil na Toirbhirte. Ms Hayes first entered our school as a Junior Infant pupil in September 1966 and to our fortune returned here in 1982 as a teacher and has been central in making the school what it is today. She has been our school Principal for the last 14 years and .
To mark this momentous event, the staff and pupils came together for a special school assembly on the Thursday before Christmas. Each class did a special performance for Ms Hayes and presented her with a card designed by the pupils. It really was an event, the likes of which we have never seen before in the school.
We sincerely wish Ms Hayes health and happiness in her retirement and thank her for everything she has done for us during her years of service to the school.
