Our annual 'Project Peru' fundraiser
On Thursday April 6th we held our annual 'Easter Egg Raffle' in aid of Sr. Regina Toomey's work in Peru.
Sr. Regina is a past pupil of Bunscoil na Toirbhirte (she was in Ms. Hayes-Brennan's class in school), and she works has worked as a Presentation Sister with the needy in South America for over twenty years.
For the past seven years we have fund-raised for Regina's mission, and we know that every single cent goes directly to help those in need. Two of our teachers (Ms. Kearney and Mr. Clancy) have visited Regina and seen the wonderful work she has done. Over the past seven years we have raised over twelve thousand euro for her work, and this year we raised €1731.53, which is an amazing amount and will do so much for those less fortunate in Peru.
We would like to to thank Ms. Coughlan who co-ordinates this raffle (for Easter Eggs) and all the children who have been most generous. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this very worthy cause.
