TONY - crossing warden extraordinaire!
Picture
Friday, 08.03.2024 marked the end of an era as our beloved crossing warden, Tony Fitzgerald, hung up his reflective vest after six years of safeguarding our little ones. Pupils, staff, parents, and grandparents gathered this morning to thank Tony for being our beacon of safety on the zebra crossing.
But Tony was more than just a keeper of the zebra crossing; he was a knight in high-vis armor, a friend, and a fashion critic all rolled into one. The highlight of many girls and boys day was meeting Tony, eagerly awaiting his seal of approval on their new haircut, school bag, shoes, or coat. They always hoped Tony would notice, and of course he always did. They looked forward to meeting him and Tony had time for everyone. He loved to hear about their achievements or news. And let's not forget his uncanny ability to recall and discuss (banter) every soccer match detail with the girls and boys about their teams.
As we bid farewell to our crossing warden extraordinaire, we send Tony off with a heartfelt "thank you" for everything and a truckload of well wishes for his future adventures. Well done Tony.
