World Book Day
March 2nd 2017
What is World Book Day? World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
To celebrate World Book Day the boys and girls in Junior and Senior Infants were invited to bring in their own books from home and read them to their 'Reading Buddy' from 5th or 6th class. This was a wonderful experience for all involved.
Sincere thanks to Ms Kearney for coordinating the event and to the girls in 5th and 6th class and their teachers Mr Clancy, Ms Horgan and Ms Feeney for giving up their class time to read with the boys and girls.
